Ironman Austin 70.3 Update

Hey guys! This is just a quick update to let you know what I’ve been doing and why I haven’t posted anything lately. My computer died 2 nights ago and therefore I have to write this from my iPhone.
First, I’m back from Austin and I’ll just say I’m
really happy with my results! Set a new Personal Best by 9 minutes. Thanks to James Cotter- amazing pro triathlete- for all the advice pre-race and to Lindsay Cotter for helping me know what to do in Austin. What an amazing city…when can I move there? No, really.
I also qualified for ITU triathlon worlds and will be a member of Team USA if I accept. The race is next November but it’s a distance farther than I’ve ever gone. What do you guys think- should I do it?

Thanks everyone for all your support! More to come soon when I get a computer back!

  1. Congrats on your PR!! Nine minutes- holy crap, that’s a huge amount of time to beat yourself by, you should be super proud!!

I think whether or not you should do it is a question only YOU can answer. Do I think you CAN do it? YES!! But you already know that your heart has to be in it 110%, so in the end you’re the only person who knows what’s best!

  2. Heya dude,

Beating a PR by 9 mins is phenomenal. Major congratulations are in order on that front. It’s always nice to see hard work pay off :). As far as worlds goes my personal opinion, Go for it. You don’t know when this opportunity will come around again, especially the chance to represent your country which is a massive achievement in any sport :D.

Really the things you need to ask yourself are, what are the obstacles I need to overcome to do this, can I overcome them now, if not what do I have to do to overcome them in the near future, what support do I have available to help with this, what are my fears/concerns about it, how can I put them aside and finally most importantly…

What am I waiting for? 🙂

Respect dude and I hope you continue from strength to strength.

    Marcus
