Thank you to EnergyFirst for sending me a box of their products! The box included a tub each of Vanilla and Chocolate ProEnergy protein powder isolate and tub of Greenery Green Superfood.
These are products are really great and I will definitely be ordering more once I finish what I have. The protein isolates have 90 calories, 20g of protein, and 0 grams of fat. I am most excited, though, about the Greenery–Here’s what it is:

Here’s a shot of the ultimate recovery drink I made this weekend. As I have discussed in previous posts, you have a 15 minute window (30 minutes tops) after your workout to refuel your muscles and glycogen stores you have just depleted.
You want to consume a 3-4:1 ratio of carbohydrates to protein. This is the time you body will suck up anything you put in it–don’t waste your workout and make sure you have energy for the next one! Honestly, eating anything during this time is better than nothing. My drink included one scoop of EnergyFirst protein, 1 Scoop of Hammer Nutrition Heed (an electrolyte/carbohydrate recovery blend) and 1 serving of Greenergy. It actually tasted good- a lemon-lime vanilla flavor- and had me feeling great the rest of the day even though I had just punished myself in the gym!

Guess what? I tried sushi for the first time! My friend Kelly and I decided to meet on our lunch hours last week, but I said she had to choose where- just had to be healthy and cheap. She opted for a sushi buffet at Mikaso. I’ve never had sushi…not really because I was avoiding it, I just felt like I would never be able to get enough quality nutrients to fill me up. But I think everything worked out alright; here was my (first) plate
At the very top of the plate you can see what I ate the most of, raw halibut over rice. Beneath that are the sushi rolls of which I had the crab and seaweed varieties. And then I had TONS of the steamed vegetables. In the top left there, you see the Volcano Roll. I have no idea what it was but Kelly said I needed to try it. I could tell it was fried though, which made it really hard for me.
Let me tell you, Kelly is really a champ! She has a great love for food and will eat anything. She is full of energy and eats pretty healthy but isn’t afraid of eating any foods never has guilt about anything she eats. She is an awesome inspiration to me, whether she knows it or not, and she really helped me feel better during our lunch last week, as well as everytime there were”scary” foods around when we were working in the same office.
